Jonathan M. Mitchum, Principal
Principal's Message:
Welcome and thank you for visiting Richmond Technical Center, where "We StaRT Careers!"
My commitment to students attending the Richmond Technical Center is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers and inspired learners prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century. The ultimate goal of our school is to prepare students to flourish in high skill, high wage, and high demand careers.
High standards and expectations for each student in regards to academic performance, co-curricular participation, and responsible citizenship are the foundation of our school. It is with pride that I hold these high standards and ask each of our students to commit to maintaining the extraordinary record of achievement and contribution that has been the legacy of Richmond Technical Center students. It is the contribution of our students to our school community that makes Richmond Technical Center an exceptional learning community.

Alida Williamson Smith, Assistant Principal
Assistant Principal's Message:
It is with sincere admiration and respect for the Vision and Mission of Richmond Technical Center that I serve as the Assistant Principal alongside Principal Mitchum. My sincerest desire is to see every student leave in June with pride and confidence knowing that the time spent at RTC was meaningful and productive! Secondly, I look forward each day to making RTC a ‘go to’ for new consumers and partners, and assisting students with shaping and fulfilling their career pathway dreams.
As an educator, I have strongly advocated throughout my career for equal access to general education for students with disabilities and other under-served students. Current events in economics, politics, and society have opened a wealth of opportunity for this generation. It is my pleasure to be a part of life-changing choices and decisions that hundreds of students make as they pass through our doors each day. This year, we strongly embrace Workplace Readiness Skills, Industry Certifications, and begin to explore new opportunities in Work Based Learning as We staRT Careers!
